AUF Covid-19 News from my Home Competition

The Ambassador of Cameroon to the United States informs members of the diaspora, in particular students, that the Central Africa and Great Lakes Department of the Agence Universitaire de la Francophonie (AUF), in partnership with the Regional Multisectoral Office of UNESCO in Yaounde, is organizing a writing competition entitled "COVID-l9: news from my home".

This competition will be the opportunity for competitors, in a 10 to 15 pages text in French, to express themselves on their perception of the pandemic and to explore the multifaceted experience of those living around them.

Submission of texts is done exclusively online, until May 31, 2020, to the emaiI address nouvelle-covid19-auf-unesco@listes.cm.auf.org

Special National Solidarity Fund for COVID-19 pandemic

The Embassy of the Republic of Cameroon in the United States informs the Cameroonian community and the diaspora of the creation by the Head of State of a Special National Solidarity Fund as part of the fight against the COVID-19 pandemic.

This Fund, with an initial amount of one billion CFA francs, will be used to finance operations identified as part of the response strategy against the spread of this pandemic in Cameroon.

The Ambaisador of Cameroon calls on the generosity and solidarity of the Cameroonian diaspora in the United States to support the efforts of the Government and our people in this fight.

Contributions can be sent to the Embassy, by Check or Money Order, at 2349 Massachusetts Avenue NW, Washington DC 20008 or sent directly to the Fund's special bank account: IBAN BGFICMCXC 10035 0L220 80005725011 63.

Corona Virus (COVID-19) Alert: Important Information for Cameroonians who Cannot Return to Cameroon

The Ambassador of the Republic of Cameroon to the United States, His Excellency Henri ETOUNDI E,SSOMBA, invites Cameroonians, on short stay in the United States for various reasons, who cannot unfortunately return to Cameroon due to the closure of borders, to contact the Embassy of Cameroon in Washington DC at mail@cameroonembassyusa.org.

Appointment/ Passport Renewal

All Cameroonian university full time students, holders of the F1&J1 Visas resident within the jurisdiction of the Cameroonian Embassy in Washington DC, should henceforth contact the Cultural Service through the addresses listed below for the renewal of their passports.

The passport renewal request must include the following documents:
  • 1-Photocopy of the identification page of their old passport
  • 2-Photocopy of their current F1 or J1 Visa, or any other document deemed necessary.
NB: Requests that do not include the above documents will not be processed.
